Jeff Jones

Jeff Jones (Licensed in the State of Tennessee and Virginia)

Jeff Jones, founding director at TCMS in 2008, began the service with a vision of providing efficient, dependable, and economical service in the Tri City area. A native of Harlan, Kentucky, he grew up in the family's funeral business and learned about taking care of folks from his father, Dukie Jones, a prominent and respected funeral director who passed away in 1999. The family firm is still in operation today, with his brother John serving families just as their father would expect.

Jeff is a 1985 graduate of Harlan High School and 1986 graduate of Mid America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana. In 1996, he met and married his wife and best friend Penny. They have three children (Whitnie, Hunter, and Noah) and two grandchildren (John and Emma). He attends Higher Ground Baptist Church in Kingsport, Tennessee. In his spare time, he enjoys being with family, watching "the kids" in sporting events and -- when the weather allows — spending time at South Holston Lake. 


Jacob K. Gasperson

Jacob K. Gasperson (Licensed in the State of Tennessee and Virginia)

Jacob K. Gasperson is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee, and is married to Tiffany Rhoton of Fall Branch, Tennessee, where they currently reside. Upon his graduation from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2006, he attended college in Nashville for several years before going to American McAllister Funeral Academy in Manhattan, New York, where he graduated in 2013. He is currently a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Tennessee and a funeral service provider in Virginia. He has been with Tri-City Mortuary Service since 2009. In his spare time, Jacob enjoys farming, hunting, and fishing. He and his lovely wife are the proud parents of Isaac David, who joined them in December of 2015.


Lindsay Fischer

Lindsay Fischer (Licensed in the State of Tennessee and Virginia)

Lindsay Fischer is a native of Scott County, Virginia, and is married to Jessica Bentley Fischer. They reside in Hiltons, Virginia, with there two children, Sam and Josie. He graduated from Gate City High School in 1996 and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Services in 1998. Lindsay began his career in funeral service in 1992 when he worked for his grandmother, the late Juanita S. Falin at Gate City Funeral Home. He is currently a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Virginia and Tennessee and has worked at Tri-City Mortuary Service since 2008. He is a member of Darthula Baptist Church in Hiltons, Virginia. Over the years, he has enjoyed coaching his children in sports and officiating Little League, middle school, and high school football.


Ray Cain

Ray Cain (Transportation)

Ray Cain is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee, and he is a 1971 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. Serving in the funeral service industry for over 30 years, he has a sincere desire to serve families in their time of grief. He joined TCMS in 2009. He married his wife, Kay Dykes Cain, in 1989. They have one daughter, Wendy, who has a husband named Freddy. Ray is the proud grandpa of Tanner and Bailee Doran. He is an active member of Sunrise Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoys watching his grandchildren in several extra-curricular activities, volunteering at church, and being with family.


Barry Jones

Barry Jones (Transportation)

Barry Jones is a graduate of Sullivan West H.S. and Carson Newman College. He is a retired Virginia school teacher with 31 years of service at Powell Valley High School and Gate City High School. Barry joined TCMS in 2018. He is married to his best friend, Terry, and they have three children: Molly, Zach, and Quinton. He is the proud grandpa of 5 grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and fishing.


Ray Bledsoe

Ray Bledsoe (Transportation)

Ray Bledsoe is a native of Kingsport, TN where he resides with his wife, Lettia M. Bledsoe. He is retired from Oak Hill Cemetery in Kingsport, TN where he worked for 45 years. He has been working with Tri-City Mortuary Service since 2017. He has 1 son, Mark Edward Bledsoe and 2 grandchildren. He enjoys farming and doing odd jobs for his neighbors and friends.


Penny Jones

Penny Jones (Office Manager)

Penny is a 1991 graduate of James A. Cawood High School and 1993 graduate of Southeast Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree. She met and married her best friend Jeff in 1996. They have three children (Whitnie, Hunter, and Noah) and two grandchildren (John and Emma). They attend Higher Ground Baptist Church.

Penny has been with TCMS since 2008 and is a part time preschool teacher. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her greatest enjoyment is being a “MOM”.


Scott Burke

Scott Burke (Transportation)

Scott Burke is a native of Scott County and graduated from Gate City High School in 1979 and Concord College in 1984. He retired from working with the federal government, US courts in December 2016. He began working for Tri-City Mortuary Service in January 2017. Scott is married to Suzy and they have three children and two grandchildren and one on the way. He's an active member of Holston View United Methodist Church.


John-Reed Barns

John-Reed Barnes (Transportation)

John-Reed Barnes is the son of Marsha and Andy Barnes. His mom Marsha is a physical education teacher and volleyball coach at Dobyns-Bennett high school. His Father Andy is the senior Pastor at Gate City First Baptist Church. John-Reed is currently a junior at East Tennessee State University. He was formerly a graduate of Gate City High School in 2016. He has been involved in sports his entire life. He played basketball, tennis, and golf in high school. He originally went to Carson-Newman University to play basketball, but later decided to come home and just pursue his degree. In his spare time he enjoys working out, playing golf, and hanging out with friends and family.


Mike Edwards

Mike Edwards (Transportation)

Mike Edwards is a native of Scott County, Virginia and is married to Fonda. They have two children, Megan and David. They are members of First Baptist Church in Weber City, VA. They enjoy spending time with their family and especially enjoy their time camping at the beach.

He is a 1984 graduate of Gate City High School and a 1989 graduate of East Tennessee State University. He joined TCMS in 2017.


Hunter Jones

Hunter Jones (Transportation)

Hunter is the son of Jeff and Penny Jones, who also work at TCMS. He graduated from Gate City High School in 2016 and is now studying History at East Tennessee State University to eventually become a Teacher and Coach. He also attends Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport TN. One day he plans on attending Mortuary School as well to carry on the families legacy that has been built. During his free time, he is happy as long as he is able to workout and watch some sports. Go Vols.
